About Michael Stephen Bowser

Michael Stephen Bowser Jr. earned a B.A. in history from Providence College in 1989 and a J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1994. He completed his undergraduate studies in a liberal arts setting that emphasized research and writing. The law degree came after a steady progression through local legal clinics and classroom study that prepared him for trial work and courtroom procedure.

He began practicing law the year he graduated from law school. Since 1994 he has worked as a self-employed defense lawyer, building a practice that has handled a broad mix of criminal matters. Early years were spent in local courts, where he managed arraignments, negotiated pleas and moved into contested hearings. Over time his practice expanded to include longer jury trials and a greater volume of pretrial litigation.

Bowser’s credentials include board certification in DUI defense from the National College for DUI Defense in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. That certification marks additional study and peer review in the specific area of impaired driving defense. He represents clients on charges ranging from first-time offenders to more serious vehicular and criminal allegations. He also handles related motions, license-suspension matters and administrative hearings tied to impaired driving cases.

Admitted to practice in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, Bowser appears across state and local court systems in the region. He is known by colleagues as a lawyer who prepares cases thoroughly. His work involves witness interviews, evidence review and expert consultation when cases require technical or scientific explanation. He takes depositions, argues suppression motions and tries cases before juries when necessary. Clients find that he combines courtroom readiness with attention to procedural details.

Today he continues to practice as a self-employed defense lawyer, representing individuals in criminal and impaired driving cases in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. His current practice centers on DUI and criminal defense, handling both trial and administrative aspects of those matters.
