About Michael
Michael Stadnick’s path to the law began in the sciences. He earned a B.A. in molecular biology and biochemistry from Wesleyan University in 1994 and continued at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received an M.S. in molecular genetics in 1997. He then turned to legal studies and graduated from New York University School of Law with a J.D. in 2000. Those academic years bridged technical training and legal education, equipping him to work on technically complex legal questions.
He entered private practice immediately after law school as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in 2000. Six years later he became a partner at the same firm, assuming greater responsibility on client matters and in firm work. In 2010 he joined Desmarais LLP as a partner, where he continued to develop his practice and to work on a wider range of cases and transactions. In 2021 he moved to Stadnick Nowierski-Stadnick LLP as a partner, taking on leadership duties within the firm and guiding client matters from intake through resolution.
Stadnick is licensed to practice in New York and Oregon and is also admitted to practice before the Federal Circuit. He holds current memberships in both the New York State Bar and the Oregon State Bar. Those admissions reflect a cross-jurisdictional practice that includes state court matters in two states and appellate work at the federal level. Over the course of his career he has balanced firm responsibilities with courtroom appearances and appellate filings when matters required it.
He now practices at Stadnick Nowierski-Stadnick LLP. His educational background in molecular biology and molecular genetics, followed by a law degree, informs the kinds of matters he takes on and the technical materials he reviews. He handles matters in New York and Oregon and represents clients in matters before the Federal Circuit as part of his current practice focus.
