About Michael Robert
Michael Robert Rosas built his legal foundation in the study of criminal justice and law. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and later completed both a juris doctor and a master of business administration at Rutgers School of Law–Newark. Those academic choices set the stage for a career that has crossed both prosecution and defense.
He began working in private practice soon after law school, taking a position as a law clerk and then associate at Lite DePalma Greenberg LLC in 2006. That early work exposed him to litigation practice and firm operations. In 2010 he moved into public service as an assistant district lawyer in the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office. That years-long experience inside a prosecutor’s office shaped his courtroom instincts and familiarity with trial procedure.
Rosas shifted to criminal defense in 2013, founding the Law Office of Michael Robert Rosas. He spent the next several years representing clients in criminal matters and building a client-centered practice. In 2015 he joined forces with another attorney to form Rosas & Cirigliano, serving as a partner and expanding the firm’s reach. In 2022 he established Michael Rosas Law PC, where he now manages casework and firm administration.
He is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey. Those dual jurisdictions reflect both his upbringing in regional courts and the cross-border nature of many criminal matters. He maintains a membership in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and participates in professional circles that concentrate on criminal justice issues.
Rosas’s background includes work on both sides of the courtroom aisle. Time as an assistant district lawyer gave him direct trial experience prosecuting cases. His later years in private practice have been devoted to defending people accused of crimes, handling matters in state and local courts and addressing the procedural and evidentiary issues those cases present.
Colleagues and clients describe him as pragmatic at trial and detailed in preparation. He balances case strategy and client communication, paying close attention to motions, discovery, and plea negotiations where appropriate. He also oversees the business side of his practice, drawing on his MBA training to manage the firm’s operations.
As of 2026 he is the owner of Michael Rosas Law PC and continues to practice criminal defense in New York and New Jersey. He currently focuses his practice on representing clients charged with criminal offenses in state courts across both states.
