\n\nA graduate of the University of Rhode Island, McElroy earned his Bachelor of Arts with highest distinction in 1973. He then pursued his Juris Doctor at Boston University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 1976. Further enhancing his expertise, he obtained a Master of Science in Taxation from Bryant University in 1987.\n\nMcElroy's legal career began with the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he served as a trial attorney from 1976 to 1981. In 1981, he transitioned to private practice, initially with James A — O'Leary under the firm name O'Leary & McElroy.
The firm later became Schacht & McElroy, and in 2015, it rebranded as McElroy & Donaldson. Throughout his career, McElroy has handled many cases, including personal injuries, wrongful deaths, medical malpractice.
