About Michael
Michael Otte built a legal path that crosses midwestern classrooms and an exchange program in Germany. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa in 1997 and the same year completed an International Business Certificate at Johann Wolfgang v. Goethe Universität. He returned to the United States for law school and received his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2009.
Early in his career he took on associate roles at small firms that handled a range of civil matters. In 2008 he worked at Delaney Law Offices, Ltd., and after law school he served as an associate at The Law Offices of Chester M. Przybylo and Associates beginning in 2010. Those positions exposed him to transactional and client-facing work and helped shape his interests in planning and older-client issues.
In 2017 he began practicing at Otte & Czajkowska. Records list him there as a lawyer. The firm operates multiple offices, including locations on Roselle Road and in Hickory Hills that see clients by appointment. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and maintains memberships in several professional groups that focus on elder and estate matters.
Otte is active in specialty sections and academies that concentrate on law for older adults and estate planning. He is a current member of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area’s Elder Law Committee and belongs to the Illinois State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section. He also participates in the American Academy of Estate Planning Lawyers and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He holds membership in the State Bar of Illinois.
Colleagues describe his work as practical and detail oriented. He advises clients on wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other planning tools used to manage assets and care in later life. His background in international business and a Midwest undergraduate education inform a practice that blends paperwork, client counseling and coordination with other professionals such as financial advisers and care providers.
He handles matters from initial planning to updates as circumstances change. The offices at Otte & Czajkowska are arranged for consultations by appointment, reflecting a steady practice cadence that balances client meetings with drafting and review. He currently practices at Otte & Czajkowska, LLC. His practice centers on estate planning and elder law.
