About Michael Louis
Michael Louis Barbiero built a law career that moves between courtrooms and county offices. He began his academic path at Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a B.A. in Administration of Justice in 1992. He spent a summer abroad in Rome through Temple University’s law program in 1996, studying international law and mediation, and completed his J.D. at Widener University Delaware School of Law in 1998.
His first position out of law school was as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Alex Bonavitacola, President Judge of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. That clerkship gave him close exposure to trial practice and written opinion drafting. He entered private practice soon after, taking associate roles that expanded his civil litigation experience. In 2000 he joined Deasey, Mahoney & Bender, Ltd., and in 2003 he moved to Anapol, Schwartz, Weiss, Cohan, Feldman & Smalley, P.C.
Bar admissions in Pennsylvania and New Jersey allowed him to handle matters on both sides of the state line. Over the next decade he stepped into leadership positions. He became a partner at Ostroff Law in 2011 and later joined Rudolph Clarke, LLC. At Rudolph Clarke he took on the role of litigation chair in 2014, overseeing trial teams and guiding case strategy.
Alongside private practice, Barbiero has served in several solicitor roles for Montgomery County offices. He became solicitor to the Montgomery County Prothonotary’s Office in 2013 and later served as solicitor to the Montgomery County Controller’s Office in 2016. Those positions involved advising county officials, handling regulatory and procedural questions, and representing county interests in administrative and legal proceedings.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who brings courtroom experience to public-sector questions. He has handled contested matters that required courtroom presence, motion practice, and negotiation. His work has ranged from managing litigation teams to providing legal counsel on office operations for county entities.
Today he practices at Rudolph Clarke, LLC, where his responsibilities include leading litigation efforts and advising public entities on legal and procedural matters. He maintains licensure in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and continues to split his time between courtroom work and counsel for county offices. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and legal services for public-sector clients.
