About Michael L.
Michael L. Gallo built a legal foundation at two well-known Bay Area institutions. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2001 after completing a Master of Arts at UC Berkeley in 1990. His undergraduate degree is from Swarthmore College, where he graduated in 1986. The academic path shows a long engagement with law and public policy that precedes his work in both private and in-house settings.
He began his legal career immediately after law school as a law clerk to the Honorable Christina Snyder of the United States District Court for the Central District of California in 2001. That clerkship exposed him to federal litigation and courtroom procedure at an early stage. In 2002 he joined Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin as an associate, a role that placed him in a broad commercial practice and in firm settings that later became part of Arnold & Porter.
Nearly a decade later Gallo moved into the utility sector. In 2010 he worked in the Regulatory Relations Department at Pacific Gas & Electric Company. That position involved interacting with regulatory frameworks and corporate stakeholders. It represented a shift from firm-based litigation and counseling to the operational and compliance concerns of a large, regulated utility.
By 2011 he returned to private practice at Sparer Law Group. His tenure there put him back into the demands of client representation and case management. The offices listed for him are associated with that firm. Over the years he has combined courtroom experience and in-house regulatory work in ways that inform his practical approach to cases and client counseling.
Gallo maintains an active membership in The State Bar of California. That status indicates ongoing licensure and participation in the state legal community.
