About Michael
Michael Kent earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law. He built the foundations of his legal career in classrooms known for a rigorous approach to trial advocacy and client counseling, then moved into practice where litigation has been a steady thread.
Over the years Kent has worked on a range of civil matters. He has handled consumer cases and employment disputes, advancing claims on behalf of individuals and bringing defenses when required. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a group made up of trial lawyers and judges, and that membership reflects experience in courtroom work and jury trials. His case work has involved drafting pleadings, taking depositions and arguing motions, and he has taken matters to trial when the case demanded it.
Kent keeps active in the legal community. He holds current memberships in the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and in Consumer Lawyers of California. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California Employment Lawyers Association. Outside California professional circles, he maintains membership in the State Bar of Wisconsin. Those affiliations have kept him connected to developments in consumer protection and employment law on both a local and broader level.
Colleagues describe Kent as steady in court and direct with clients. He structures cases to identify the key factual disputes early. That approach often narrows litigation and frames productive settlement discussions. When a case cannot be resolved, he pursues trial preparation deliberately: he prepares witnesses, organizes exhibits and develops themes that jurors can follow. His ABOTA membership signals the trial work that has occupied a significant portion of his practice.
Kent also contributes time to the professional organizations he belongs to. He attends educational programs and participates in discussions on evolving legal issues. Those activities keep him current on changes in consumer protection statutes and employment regulations, and they inform how he evaluates new matters that come into the office.
He currently represents clients in consumer and employment matters.
