About Michael K.

Michael K. Horn built his legal foundation at Loyola College, where he studied political science from 1993 to 1996 and earned a B.A. He continued his studies at the University of South Dakota School of Law, attending from 1997 to 2000 and receiving his J.D. in 2000. Those years set the stage for a career spent practicing across state lines and handling the everyday problems that bring people into a lawyer’s office.

After graduation he entered practice and gained admission to the bars of Missouri and South Dakota. Those dual admissions have allowed him to work with clients who face legal issues that touch both jurisdictions. Over time he has handled matters that arise in state courts and in transactional settings, and he is familiar with the procedural and practical differences that come up when cases cross state borders.

Horn operates from an office that shares a plaza with several local businesses. His suite is shared with Front Porch Realty and sits in the same plaza as House of Ink Tattoo Studio. The location reflects a kind of neighborhood practice. He meets clients there, prepares pleadings and agreements, and handles day-to-day case logistics outside of the courthouse. That practical, small-office setting frames how he approaches client work: straightforward, detail-oriented, and tied to the community he serves.

Colleagues and clients describe his work as thorough. He spends time on case preparation, whether that means drafting documents, negotiating settlements, or appearing in court. He has built a practice rhythm that fits the pace of state-court dockets in both Missouri and South Dakota. He also provides counsel to local businesses and individuals who need clear explanations of their legal options and the steps that follow.

Over the years Horn has balanced courtroom responsibilities with advisory work. He handles litigation tasks when disputes require formal proceedings and provides transactional support when clients need contracts, leases, or other legal paperwork. He aims to make legal matters understandable and manageable for the people who hire him. His current practice focuses on serving individuals and small businesses in Missouri and South Dakota from his shared office suite in the local plaza.
