About Michael

Michael Granata studied philosophy at Hofstra University before earning his Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University in 1999. He proceeded to enter the legal profession and is admitted to practice in Texas. His academic background in philosophy informs a measured approach to legal analysis and courtroom argument.

Granata established his practice through the Law Office of Michael P. Granata. Over the years he has been active in local and state bar groups related to family law. His memberships include the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section, the Denton County Bar Association Family Law Section and the Plano Bar Association. He also belongs to the Texas Family Law Foundation and has been a member of the Annette Stewart Inns of Court since 2008. He has maintained membership in the College of the State Bar of Texas since 2004. Between 2009 and 2012 he served on the board of the Dallas Bar Association Family Law Section, a role that involved committee work and coordination with other family law practitioners.

His practice centers on family law matters. He appears before family law courts and handles cases that raise issues such as divorce, child custody and related family disputes. Colleagues in bar sections and Inns of Court have engaged with him on topics that often arise in family law practice, including procedural questions and case strategy. He has remained involved in professional groups that discuss continuing education and practice standards for family lawyers in Texas.

Granata operates out of the Law Office of Michael P. Granata, where he represents clients in family law proceedings and provides counsel on court filings and negotiations. He maintains active membership in several bar organizations and continues to participate in professional groups that address family law practice in Texas. He currently represents clients in family law matters from his law office.
