About Michael
Michael Brackman built his legal foundation at Centenary College of Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2018. He later attended George Mason University School of Law and earned a Juris Doctor. His early academic years combined classroom study with practical observation of courtroom procedure. Those experiences shaped his decision to pursue a practice that includes appearances in both state and federal venues.
Brackman entered practice in Virginia in 2022. He joined Parker, Simon & Kokolis, LLC that year and worked as an attorney handling client matters for the firm. In 2023 he moved to Malinowski Hubbard, PLLC, where he continued to expand his courtroom and case-management skills. In 2024 he became an associate at Livesay & Myers, P.C., taking on greater responsibility for case preparation, client counseling and litigation tasks.
He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, first joining its rolls in 2022. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. That combination of state and federal admissions has informed the matters he handles and the procedural work he performs. Colleagues note his steady courtroom presence and his attention to procedural detail when preparing filings for both trial and federal court practice.
Across his positions, Brackman has moved from handling discrete assignments to managing broader case strategies. Early work often involved drafting pleadings, conducting legal research and supporting senior attorneys at hearings. Over time he took on direct client contact and more complex briefing responsibilities. The trajectory shows a lawyer who has expanded the scope of his work steadily, taking on tasks that require both written advocacy and in-court presentation.
Outside of casework he maintains professional ties through bar membership and local legal communities. He keeps current on procedural developments that affect litigation practice in Virginia and in the Eastern District. That attention to practice rules and court procedures feeds into his day-to-day work at the firm.
Brackman is based at Livesay & Myers, P.C., where he handles matters that bring him before Virginia state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He currently practices at Livesay & Myers, P.C., representing clients in matters before Virginia courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
