About Michael
Michael Bonvolanta earned his law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2015 after completing undergraduate studies at DePaul University in 2011. He entered the legal profession during a period of steady change in courtroom technology and written advocacy, and he built his early legal foundation through bar association involvement and hands-on practice.
Shortly after law school he joined local professional groups. He has been a member of the Oakland County Bar Association since 2015 and joined the Italian American Bar Association of Michigan in 2014. Those memberships offered him opportunities to observe seasoned trial counsel and to participate in continuing legal education programs aimed at courtroom practice and case preparation.
He began working as a trial lawyer for Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. in 2020. In that role he has focused on courtroom work and litigation strategy. His day-to-day responsibilities include case development, motion practice, witness preparation and handling matters through trial. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing testimony and practical in choosing litigation paths that match the client’s objectives.
Bonvolanta’s approach blends courtroom readiness with detailed file work. He prepares exhibits, practices direct and cross-examination, and evaluates settlement offers in light of trial risk. He has worked on cases that required depositions, expert witness coordination and courtroom presentation. He prefers clear factual narratives and careful evidentiary foundations when presenting a case to judges and juries.
Outside the courtroom he maintains professional ties within the Michigan legal community. His long-running association memberships reflect a steady engagement with regional legal institutions. That involvement provides regular contact with peers and opportunities for informal consultation on procedural and substantive issues that arise during litigation.
At Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C., Bonvolanta continues to try cases and manage litigation from intake through trial. He handles the practical demands of courtroom work while keeping an eye on the procedural details that determine outcomes. He practices law in Michigan and maintains an active role in litigation and trial work at his firm.
