About Michael A.
Michael A. Contant is an attorney based in Massachusetts who has practiced law since the late 1990s. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Merrimack College in 1995 and completed his Juris Doctor at the Massachusetts School of Law in 1998. Those academic years laid a foundation in both analytical thinking and courtroom procedure that he would carry into private practice.
After law school, Contant joined the Law Offices of Philip R. Boncore, P.C. in 1998. He worked there during his earliest years as a lawyer and handled a range of matters that gave him practical courtroom experience. In 2002 he moved to King, Stawicki & Contant, where he continued litigation work and began taking on more complex case responsibilities. That period deepened his familiarity with criminal and civil procedures at the state level.
In 2006 he became a shareholder at Contant Law, P.C. Since then he has managed cases, overseen client intake, and led trial preparation. His role as a shareholder brought administrative duties alongside courtroom work. It also established him as a steady presence in his firm’s litigation practice and in matters requiring appellate filings.
Contant is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the Federal Circuit. He joined the National College for DUI Defense in 2019 and remains a member. That affiliation aligns with his courtroom work and ongoing involvement in DUI-related defense. Over the years his docket has included criminal defense matters, DUI representation, and appeals in state and federal venues.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and persistent in pursuing legal remedies. He has combined trial experience with appellate filings, which has shaped the way he approaches evidence and legal argument. Outside the courtroom, his work managing a small firm has encompassed the business side of legal practice, including client communications and case management.
He currently practices at Contant Law, P.C. and handles criminal defense, DUI matters, and appellate work in Massachusetts and in federal courts.
