About Melissa M

Melissa M Lewis built her legal foundation in Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University and continued her studies at the University of Miami School of Law. Those years on campus shaped her understanding of legal doctrine and the work required to practice professionally.

Her time at the University of Miami School of Law coincided with a demanding curriculum and opportunities to engage in practical exercises. Classroom study, moot court and research projects reinforced basic skills: close reading, concise writing and the ability to craft persuasive arguments. She left law school with the practical tools most new attorneys rely on when they begin handling client matters.

After completing her studies, Lewis moved into legal practice. Over the course of her career she has handled day-to-day client work and has appeared in court when matters required. Colleagues describe her as steady and methodical in preparing for hearings and in drafting pleadings. She tends to prioritize clarity over flourish and prefers plain language in filings and client communications.

Lewis’s professional approach emphasizes careful analysis of facts and law. She typically starts by identifying the discrete legal questions a case presents, then works back to assemble the evidence and legal authority those questions require. That orientation has guided how she manages case files, prepares witnesses and develops trial strategy when matters proceed to litigation. Outside the courtroom she has relied on negotiation and written advocacy to resolve disputes before trial.

Today Lewis maintains an active practice. She balances court work and client counseling and handles a steady docket of matters that require both written briefs and in-person advocacy. Her current practice concentrates on general civil matters, and she spends her time managing litigation, advising clients on procedural issues and drafting the motions and briefs that drive litigation forward.

She continues to live and work in the region where she trained, drawing on her university training to inform daily practice decisions.
