About Melissa A.

Melissa A. Carpenter earned her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 2012. She completed a demanding course of study at a law school known for practical training and entered the practice of law in Georgia. Her legal education set the groundwork for work that would soon move from classroom to courtroom and conference room.

Carpenter serves as an associate at Parks, Chesin & Walbert. In that role she contributes to the firm’s daily legal work, collaborating with colleagues on matters that require research, drafting and procedural preparation. Her position places her in the routine flow of client files, where attention to detail and steady case management are essential.

She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. Those memberships connect her to the region’s legal community and the continuing education that keeps lawyers current on changes in statutes and case law. Participation in bar activities also gives younger lawyers a way to learn from more experienced practitioners and to remain plugged into developments in Georgia law.

As an associate, Carpenter’s responsibilities include legal research, preparing written submissions and assisting in hearings and trials as required by the firm’s cases. She supports senior attorneys in building factual records and in organizing documents for litigation or transactional matters. The work requires comfort with deadlines and an ability to distill complex information into clear written and oral presentations.

Colleagues describe her approach as practical and steady. She moves methodically through legal problems and tends to emphasize clarity in filings and client communications. That steadiness is often what firms ask of associates when they are handling multiple matters at once.

Outside the office, Carpenter’s membership ties suggest she remains engaged with professional development in Atlanta and across the state. She has continued to build her practice since leaving law school and has remained based in Georgia. She currently practices as an associate at Parks, Chesin & Walbert, concentrating on client representation and legal counseling in matters arising under Georgia law.
