About Megan

Megan Douglass combined a background in education with a later turn to the law. She earned a Master of Education in English Education from Temple University, recorded as an M.Ed. in 1997. Ten years later she completed her legal training at the University of New Hampshire School of Law, earning a J.D. in 2006.

Her route into the profession is marked by that dual foundation. The early training in English education shaped how she reads and explains complex material. The law degree provided the technical tools to argue and draft. She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Douglass is active in professional organizations tied to employment and civil litigation. She holds membership in the New Hampshire Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and in the New Hampshire Association for Justice, commonly known among trial lawyers in the state. Those affiliations place her among peers who handle workplace disputes and civil claims and who pursue trial advocacy and appellate work.

Her career has included courtroom appearances and appellate filings. She has handled contested matters at the trial level and taken appeals to federal court in the First Circuit. That mix of trial and appellate work has required careful case development, motion practice and written advocacy. Her prior academic training in English education is evident in the emphasis she places on clear written argument and plainspoken courtroom explanation.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation and direct in presentation. Clients and co-counsel note an attention to detail in briefing and a willingness to press issues through trial when necessary. She contributes to professional networks inside New Hampshire that focus on employment law and plaintiff-side advocacy, attending meetings and participating in continuing legal education offered through those groups.

Her practice continues in New Hampshire, where she represents clients in state courts and before the First Circuit when appeals arise. She remains involved in local legal organizations that concentrate on employment matters and trial practice. Her current work centers on litigated matters in New Hampshire and appellate work in the First Circuit.
