About Olivia

Olivia Bensinger earned a B.A. from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa before taking her legal training to Harvard Law School, where she received her J.D. Her academic path combined a large public university undergraduate experience with three years at an Ivy League law school. That mixture shaped her approach to research and argument, and informed her early moves in private practice and on the federal bench.

Bensinger began her legal career in private practice. In 2017 she joined Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP as an associate. There she worked on litigation matters alongside teams handling complex commercial disputes and courtroom work. The position gave her exposure to case preparation, discovery, and motion practice at large national firm standard.

Her next step was a federal clerkship. In 2020 she served as a law clerk to a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. The clerkship provided direct experience with federal civil procedure, draft opinions, and the inner workings of trial and motion calendars. It also offered a close view of how judges analyze legal arguments and manage cases from filing through resolution.

In 2021 Bensinger moved to New England and joined Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. as an associate. The transition brought her into a different regional market and into practice where she continued to handle litigation tasks. At Shaheen & Gordon she has worked on filings in state courts and in federal district court, applying courtroom procedures she encountered during her clerkship.

She is admitted to practice in New York and New Hampshire, and she is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Those admissions allow her to appear in both state and federal venues along the Northeast corridor. Her résumé reflects a mix of big-firm litigation training and hands-on federal court experience from her clerkship.

Colleagues describe Bensinger as methodical in legal research and precise in drafting. She balances close attention to procedural detail with an ability to present facts succinctly in briefs and oral argument. Her career path shows a steady movement from large-firm practice to the federal courthouse and then into regional practice in New England.

She currently practices as an associate at Shaheen & Gordon, P.A., and her work involves litigation and court appearances in both state and federal courts.
