About Matthew
Matthew Towson earned his J.D. from the University of North Texas Law School in 2018 after completing a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies at Dallas Baptist University in 2013. He moved into the legal field soon after law school, building practical experience through internships at county offices and then taking on courtroom and client responsibilities in private practice. His academic background fed a direct pathway into Texas law.
Early in his career he worked outside the law as an account executive for Lanyon in 2013. That role appears to have informed his approach to client communication and case management. He returned to the public side of law as a legal intern in Frisco at Collin County in 2017 and then at the Parker County District Lawyers Office in 2018. Those stints gave him a foundation in prosecutorial procedures and courtroom settings.
After law school he joined Powell Law Offices, P.C. in 2019 as a lawyer. There he shouldered a range of day-to-day responsibilities for clients and learned the operational side of a small firm. Two years later he took on a leadership role at Towson Law Office, PLLC. Since 2021 he has served as the managing lawyer at that firm, overseeing case work and the office’s legal operations.
Towson belongs to several professional organizations in the region. He is a current member of the State Bar of Texas and holds memberships in the Denton, Collin and Tarrant County bar associations. Those memberships connect him to local court systems and community legal networks across the northern Texas region.
His work history reflects a steady progression from internships to private practice and then to firm management. He has experience in county legal offices, a regional private practice, and now runs a small office. Colleagues describe him as practical and detail-oriented in his handling of files and client matters.
He practices in Texas and manages Towson Law Office, PLLC. He currently focuses his practice on representing clients through his firm and serving communities in the North Texas counties where he holds bar association memberships.
