About Matthew T.

Matthew T. Kincaid built a legal path that ties business training to courtroom know-how. He studied at the University of Kansas, where he earned a B.A. in economics and psychology in 2008. He returned to KU for graduate work, taking both an MBA and a J.D., each conferred in 2012. He also holds a certificate in Business and Commercial Law from the University of Kansas School of Law and completed a program in Negotiation and Conflict Management through the United States Institute of Peace.

After law school, Kincaid began his professional career at Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace & Bauer, LLP in 2012. He spent the next few years working on commercial and business matters there. In 2015 he moved to Dysart Taylor Cotter McMonigle & Montemore, P.C., where he continued to handle business-related legal work and sharpened his transactional and dispute-resolution skills. In 2016 he opened his own practice, Kincaid Business & Entrepreneurial Law, LLC, bringing together his legal and business backgrounds.

Kincaid is admitted to practice in both Kansas and Missouri and is also admitted to the Tenth Circuit. He joined the Kansas State Bar in 2012 and the Missouri State Bar in 2013, and both memberships remain active. Early in his career he took part in the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, serving on a board that included the Young Lawyers Section from 2014 through 2017.

His work sits at the intersection of business and law. He counsels small and mid-sized enterprises on transactional matters, entity formation, and commercial agreements. He also handles disputes that arise from those relationships, drawing on formal negotiation training to seek settlements where appropriate and litigating when necessary. Clients range from entrepreneurs just starting out to established companies needing corporate governance or contract advice.

Colleagues describe him as practical and focused on solving client problems in straightforward terms. He balances business considerations against legal risk and aims to present options that business owners can act on. His dual degree background gives him a vantage point on both operational and legal dimensions of a business.

Kincaid maintains a private practice through Kincaid Business & Entrepreneurial Law, LLC, where he continues to advise businesses on formation, contracts, and dispute resolution. His current practice centers on business and entrepreneurial matters.
