About Dan
Dan Zmijewski built his legal foundation in classrooms and courtrooms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Anthropology from George Washington University — Virginia Campus in 1997. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2002. Those academic years shaped a practice that moves between state lines and often requires attention to both legal detail and real-world context.
After law school Zmijewski entered practice and established his license to work in both Kansas and Missouri. Over the years he has maintained memberships in professional organizations and stayed connected to developments in state law. He has worked on matters that require coordination across jurisdictions, a frequent reality for clients whose issues do not stop at a state border.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and methodical. He approaches cases with an eye for factual clarity and procedural discipline. He tends to break large problems into discrete tasks, then addresses each one in sequence. That habit shows in his courtroom filings and in negotiations where a clear record matters. He also brings an interdisciplinary sensibility from his undergraduate studies, which can help when cases touch on regulatory, social or policy questions.
Zmijewski’s career has included a mix of trial and transactional environments. He has represented clients in state matters and has prepared pleadings, motions and briefs responsive to evolving legal issues. He also advises clients on steps to reduce exposure and on strategies that streamline dispute resolution. His work requires managing deadlines, coordinating with experts, and explaining legal options in straightforward terms.
Today he practices at DRZ Law, LLC. The firm serves clients across Kansas and Missouri and handles matters that range in complexity. He continues to update his legal knowledge as state law changes, and he remains active in professional circles. His practice concentrates on serving clients in Kansas and Missouri.
