About Matthew J.
Matthew J. Dorry built his path to law from a background in criminal justice. He earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University before completing a J.D. at Widener University Commonwealth Law School. That combination of undergraduate study and law school provided a practical foundation for courtroom work and client representation across state lines.
His early work included a stint outside the legal field. In 2012 he worked as a weekend supervisor at a fitness club in Freehold, New Jersey. He moved into legal practice the following year. In 2013 he joined Citta, Holzapfel and Zabarsky as a lawyer and also took on an of counsel role at Hunnell Law, LLC. That same year he launched the Law Office of Matthew J Dorry LLC and began handling his own matters.
Dorry expanded his trial experience in 2016 when he worked as a trial lawyer at the Law Offices of Jonathan F. Marshall. That period reinforced his familiarity with courtroom procedures and the demands of trial preparation. He has practiced in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, bringing practical courtroom experience to cases that require face-to-face advocacy.
He maintains active memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Haydn Proctor Inn of Court and belongs to both the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Those memberships connect him to peers and continuing legal education programs in the region and offer a forum for staying current on developments that affect clients in the two states where he is licensed.
Throughout his career Dorry has combined solo practice responsibilities with roles at established firms. That mix has allowed him to manage client files directly while also collaborating with other lawyers on litigation and strategy. He handles matters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and maintains a practice that serves clients in both jurisdictions.
