About Matthew
Matthew Casey graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999. Those two institutions bookend a decade of academic work rooted in law, policy and public affairs.
Georgetown gave him the formal legal training and exposure to federal and regulatory issues that shape many contemporary practices. He completed his J.D. at the end of the 1990s, a period of shifting legal priorities as technology and commerce began to accelerate. His curriculum at Georgetown placed him among peers who went on to careers across both private and public sectors.
At Notre Dame he studied government and international relations, subjects that emphasize systems, institutions and the ways rules affect people. That background has informed how he evaluates legal questions and counsel. It also lends a broader perspective when matters touch on administrative or policy considerations.
Casey is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. That jurisdictional tie defines where he is licensed and where he is authorized to represent clients. Practicing under Pennsylvania law means engaging with both state statutes and the body of case law developed in the state courts over decades.
Over the course of his career he has combined classroom training with practice. He has worked on the everyday tasks lawyers manage: researching precedent, drafting pleadings and advising clients on legal options. He approaches each matter by breaking problems into discrete legal issues and assessing practical consequences. Colleagues describe his style as methodical and focused on clear explanation rather than legalese.
Clients and peers often seek attorneys who can translate complex legal rules into straightforward terms. Casey’s academic grounding in government and law positions him to do that work. His years in legal practice have reinforced the need for precise analysis and attention to procedural detail.
He remains active in the Pennsylvania legal community and continues to handle matters in that jurisdiction. As of 2026 he practices law in Pennsylvania.
