About Matthew A.
Matthew A. Crockett built his academic foundation between the Midwest and Chicago. He earned a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1995. He returned to Chicago to complete both a J.D. at DePaul College of Law and an M.B.A. at DePaul University, each conferred in 1998. The combination of business training and legal education shaped a career that has moved between public service, the military and private practice.
Crockett entered public prosecution early in his career. In 2004 he served as a Senior Assistant State’s Lawyer with the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice. That role placed him in courtroom settings and involved work on criminal matters at the state level. The prosecutor’s office gave him day-to-day trial exposure and experience handling the procedural demands of criminal cases.
A decade later he took on a judicial role in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2014. His time in the military legal system added a different set of responsibilities and context for adjudication. After leaving military service, he moved into family law practice. He joined the McConnell Family Law Group as a lawyer in 2017 and spent several years there handling matters typical of that practice area.
In 2022 Crockett shifted his professional path twice. He worked as an associate at the Law Office of Robert C. Andrews, P.C., and later that year he opened his own office, the Law Office of Matthew Crockett, LLC. That move to private practice followed years of service in both public and military legal roles. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and Maine and maintains professional ties in the Connecticut legal community as a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.
Crockett’s background crosses criminal prosecution, military judicial service and family law practice. He has handled courtroom work for the state and represented private clients in family law settings. Those varied positions have given him experience in litigation, client counseling and case management across several types of matters.
He runs the Law Office of Matthew Crockett, LLC, which he established in 2022. There he continues to represent clients in matters that reflect his prior roles in criminal and family law, practicing in Connecticut and Maine. His current practice focuses on those areas of law.
