About Mary Patricia

Mary Patricia Magee built a legal foundation in the 1970s, studying at St. Peter’s College before spending a year at the Sorbonne and finishing her law degree at Seton Hall University School of Law in 1979. Those years abroad and in New Jersey shaped a practice that draws on both local roots and broader perspectives.

She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the U.S. Supreme Court. Her career spans decades in private practice. Over the years she rose through the ranks at Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C., and serves there as a partner. That role places her at the center of a mid-Atlantic firm where she handles client matters, mentors junior lawyers and participates in firm leadership.

Magee’s professional interests include estate and financial planning, an area in which she has held leadership posts outside the firm. She served as president of the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Central New Jersey. That post reflected a standing among local peers and an ongoing engagement with issues that touch families and advisers.

Her involvement in bar groups runs from county to state. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Monmouth County Bar Association. Locally she has taken on a leadership role as vice-president of the South Monmouth County Bar Association. Those memberships keep her connected to changes in ethics rules, procedure and practice trends that affect day-to-day client work.

Colleagues describe Magee as a steady presence in the courtroom of community legal life. She has combined firm work with continuing participation in professional organizations for many years. That balance reflects a practice anchored in advice for individuals and families and in the professional networks that support such work.

At Lindabury she continues to serve clients on matters tied to estate and financial planning, drawing on years of experience in both transactional and advisory aspects of that work.
