About Mark

Mark Tyson earned his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 2013. He completed his legal studies after entering the program in 2010, joining a generation of lawyers trained at one of the state's primary law schools. Those formative years shaped the way he approaches questions of law and fact: methodical, detail-oriented and practical.

He entered practice in Washington and worked his way into positions of greater responsibility. In 2022 he became a partner at TKN Tyson LLP. That promotion marked a new chapter in a career that includes both private practice and pro bono work. He is an active member of the King County Bar Association and participates in the legal community through that membership.

Voluntary work has been a steady part of his trajectory. Since 2017 he has served as a volunteer pro bono lawyer for Kids In Need of Defense. That role has involved providing legal assistance to children through an established nonprofit, contributing time and courtroom experience to representation that might otherwise be unavailable. The work reflects an element of his practice that extends beyond billable hours and into public service.

Colleagues describe his courtroom manner as direct and his written work as precise. He handles client matters that require careful factual development and legal analysis. Over time he has built a practice that balances advocacy with counseling. He advises clients, prepares legal filings and appears in proceedings across Washington.

At TKN Tyson LLP he carries the responsibilities typical of a partner: managing client relationships, mentoring junior lawyers and helping set the firm’s strategic direction. The firm listing identifies him as a partner there, and he maintains an office through the firm where he meets with clients and handles casework.

Outside of direct casework he remains engaged with professional circles in King County and the broader state bar environment. That engagement keeps him current on procedural developments and local practice trends. His volunteer work with Kids In Need of Defense continues alongside his firm duties, and it informs how he thinks about access to legal representation.

He practices in Washington and represents clients from the region. His current practice focuses on serving clients and handling legal matters in Washington.
