Mark Allyn Hiller

Mark Allyn Hiller is a shareholder and commercial litigator at Robinson Bradshaw in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He joined the firm in 2015 and became a shareholder in 2019. His practice focuses on business litigation, intellectual property, and appellate matters. He has represented clients in high-stakes disputes across various industries, including health care, manufacturing, telecommunications, banking, and government contracting. His experience encompasses class actions, business and contract disputes, intellectual property, trade secret disputes, cybersecurity, and the False Claims Act. He has also represented clients in government investigations. Before joining Robinson Bradshaw, Mark served as a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, he clerked for the Honorable Robert D. Sack of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 2009 to 2010. He began his legal career as an associate at Robbins, Russell, Englert, Orseck, Untereiner & Sauber LLP in Washington, D.C., from 2010 to 2012. Mark earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2009, where he graduated Order of the Coif and served as an editor for the Virginia Law Review. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard College, graduating magna cum laude with an A.B. in 2005. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina, the District of Columbia, and New York. In North Carolina, he has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in business litigation for 2024 and 2025, and as a Rising Star from 2018 to 2023. He has also been named to Benchmark Litigation's 40 & Under List from 2022 to 2024 and as a Future Star for 2025 and 2026. Mark is active in the legal community, serving as a council member for the North Carolina Bar Association's Insurance Law Section since 2025. He is also a fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, class of 2024. He is fluent in Spanish.
