About Mark A
Mark A Campbell earned his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 2015 after completing undergraduate study in political science at William Jewell College. He entered law school amid a period of varied practical experience and left prepared for courtroom work and client counseling. His academic background provided a base in government and policy as he moved into practice in the Midwest.
Campbell’s legal career began with a law clerk role at Bryan, Lykins, Hejtmanek PA in 2013. That early position gave him exposure to research, drafting and the day-to-day mechanics of running a case. After law school he spent time as an associate at Welch & Webb, LLC in 2016 and handled tax matters for H&R Block the same year. Those roles introduced him to both traditional plaintiff-and-defendant civil work and the technical side of tax law and compliance.
He joined Hartstack & Campbell, LLC in 2019, where his responsibilities expanded to managing client files and appearing in court. The move into a firm that carried his name reflected a growing practice profile and a readiness to take on greater responsibility for case strategy and client relations. In 2021 he launched Campbell Legal, LLC. As owner he manages intake, litigation and the administrative work that comes with running a small firm.
Campbell is admitted to practice in Kansas and Missouri and holds memberships in The Kansas Bar Association and the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has maintained membership in the criminal defense association since 2016. Those affiliations have kept him connected to peers in both states and to continuing legal education opportunities.
His experience touches several areas of law. Early tax work sharpened his attention to detail and to statutory compliance. His years as an associate and later as a firm partner brought courtroom experience and case management skills. Across those roles he has handled filings, motions and client counseling in matters that cross state lines and procedural boundaries.
Campbell runs a small practice out of Campbell Legal, LLC. He divides his time between casework, court appearances and overseeing the business side of the firm. He represents clients in criminal defense and related matters at Campbell Legal, LLC.
