About Maribeth

Maribeth Blessing brings decades of work at the intersection of family law and alternative dispute resolution. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Spanish at Kutztown University in 1970, pursued graduate study in learning handicapped education at Santa Clara University in 1981, and earned her J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law in 1991.

Her legal career began in the early 1990s. In 1992 she worked at Gold-Bikin, Clifford & Young. By 1996 she was the executive director of the Center for Matrimonial Dispute Resolution at the Law Offices of Leslee Tabas. Since 1999 she has operated the Law Offices of Maribeth Blessing and Maribeth Blessing Mediation & Arbitration, where she serves as lawyer, mediator, arbitrator and parent coordinator.

Blessing has maintained active bar memberships across state and federal forums. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is admitted to the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Her membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar dates to 1991, and she has been active in professional groups ever since.

Her involvement in bar and dispute resolution organizations runs deep. She has been part of the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court as president and master, and she led the Collaborative Law Affiliates of Southeastern Pennsylvania as its president for five years and continues as a member and attorney liaison. She holds membership in the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Association of Family Conciliation Courts, and she is listed as an advanced practitioner in mediation with the Association of Conflict Resolution. Locally, she sits on the Montgomery Mediation Advisory Panel and has served on the Montgomery Bar Association’s Board of Directors and Bench Bar activities.

Outside paid practice she has taken on pro bono roles. Since 2010 she has served as a child advocate in Montgomery County. Since 2018 she has been affiliated with the Center for Peaceful Resolution. Those roles reflect long-standing interest in resolving disputes outside the courtroom and in promoting child-centered approaches in custody matters.

Colleagues and clients encounter a practitioner who combines courtroom knowledge with mediation skills and parental coordination experience. She handles matrimonial dispute resolution, custody and parenting time matters, collaborative law processes, and related alternative dispute resolution work. Her current practice concentrates on mediation, arbitration, collaborative law and parent coordination in family matters.
