About Mariah

Mariah Latimer earned her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law in 2021 after completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Arizona’s Honors College in 2018. Her academic path combined legal training with an undergraduate background in the social and behavioral sciences. That combination informs how she approaches client matters and courtroom work.

She entered practice promptly after law school. Since 2021 she has served as an associate at Livesay & Myers, P.C. Early in her career she gained experience in trial preparation, motion practice and client counseling. Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and direct in courtroom settings. She has handled matters in state and federal forums and has worked on cases that required careful procedural attention.

Latimer is admitted to practice in Virginia. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Those admissions allow her to represent clients in both trial and appellate settings. Over the past several years she has developed familiarity with federal filing procedures and appellate briefing standards.

Her professional affiliations reflect an interest in family law and service to newer members of the bar. She holds memberships in the Fairfax Bar Association’s Family Law Section and its Young Lawyers Section, both listed as current since 2021. Participation in those groups has given her regular exposure to local family law practitioners and to the practical questions that arise in custody and support disputes.

At Livesay & Myers, P.C., Latimer’s responsibilities include drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing witnesses and appearing in hearings. She works alongside more senior attorneys on contested matters and also handles client intake and initial case assessments. The practice environment has emphasized litigation skills and courtroom readiness, and Latimer has applied those lessons in both contested and negotiated resolutions.

Outside the courtroom she has engaged in continuing legal education and local bar activities intended for early-career attorneys. That activity has kept her current on developments in family law and procedural rules in Virginia courts. Colleagues note that she prioritizes clear communication with clients and careful adherence to court deadlines.

She currently practices family law at Livesay & Myers, P.C.
