About Marco
Marco Brown grew up pursuing languages and human behavior. He earned a B.S. in psychology and Italian from Brigham Young University in 1995. Ten years later he completed a J.D. at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where his studies emphasized litigation, criminal law and constitutional law. He also served as a research assistant at the Nebraska College of Law while finishing his degree.
His early legal work mixed court-side experience and nonprofit management. After law school he clerked at Angle, Murphy, Valentino & Campbell in 2005 and spent a year as a judicial law clerk for Iowa’s Third Judicial District in 2007. Before law school he held the title of Associate Program Director at Chrysalis in 2002, a role that preceded his formal legal training and offered administrative and program oversight experience.
Brown moved into private practice and firm-based litigation roles in the late 2000s. He joined Miller Stratvert, P.A. as a lawyer in 2008. Two years later he opened Brown Family Law, LLC, where he became managing lawyer in 2010. His career path includes both courtroom work and client counseling, and his practice history reflects time spent on family-related matters alongside criminal and constitutional issues explored during his legal studies.
He is admitted in state and federal courts across the Mountain West. His jurisdictions include New Mexico and Utah, as well as the Tenth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of New Mexico and Utah. Memberships and participation in bar and professional groups run long-term. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2007 and joined state and local bar groups in Utah and New Mexico beginning in 2008 and 2010. He is also a member of the Federal Bar Association and the Federalist Society.
Community work features in Brown’s profile. He served as co-chair and pro bono lawyer for the Davis County Domestic Violence Coalition from 2010 to 2011, then as chair from 2011 to 2012. He holds membership in the Utah Adoption Council, reflecting involvement in adoption issues, and has participated in criminal defense associations in Utah.
Colleagues describe a practitioner who balances courtroom experience with nonprofit and local-bar engagement. He continues to lead Brown Family Law, LLC, and maintains his admissions in state and federal courts in the region. He currently concentrates his practice on family law matters while advising clients in related state and federal proceedings.
