About Jill L

Jill L Coil built a legal foundation that spans two states. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University and went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University. Those academic stops set the stage for a practice grounded in courtroom procedure and client advocacy.

After law school, Coil entered practice in jurisdictions that reflect her education and personal ties. She is licensed to practice in both Utah and Texas. Over time she concentrated her work on providing direct legal services and running a small law practice.

In 2014 she formed CoilLaw, LLC and has served as owner since then. Running a firm shaped the daily work. It also required attention to both the legal and business sides of practice. Her role as owner includes client intake, file management, and overseeing legal strategy. She has handled matters that required coordination across state lines and has developed processes for managing multi-jurisdictional issues.

Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic and straightforward. She tends to prioritize clear communication and practical solutions. That approach shows up in client meetings and in how cases are managed from intake through resolution. She maintains professional ties in both Utah and Texas, which helps when a case involves elements in more than one jurisdiction.

Outside of the office, Coil draws on her academic background in political science when evaluating statutory and regulatory matters. Her law school training at Texas Southern University also informs how she frames litigation and negotiation. She balances litigation readiness with efforts to resolve disputes efficiently when resolution serves a client’s interests.

Coil’s practice has remained small by design. That allows her to handle matters personally and maintain a consistent presence for clients. She structures the firm to provide responsive counsel without layered bureaucracy. Clients who work with her can expect direct access to the attorney handling their file.

She continues to practice in both Utah and Texas and to oversee CoilLaw, LLC. Her current practice concentrates on providing direct legal counsel and representation to clients across those jurisdictions.
