About Marc

Marc Zucker built his legal foundation at Haverford College, earning a B.A. in political science in 1981, and at Villanova University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 1984. Those years set the stage for a career that has combined courtroom work, bar leadership and a brief turn in the classroom.

He joined private practice after law school and rose through firm ranks to become a partner at Weir & Partners LLP in 2002. That role has anchored his professional life for more than two decades. He also spent time in legal education, serving as an adjunct professor at Villanova School of Law in 2004, teaching students while continuing his work at the firm.

Zucker has been active in bar associations for much of his career. He served as chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Business Litigation Committee in 2007–2008 and led the Villanova Inn of Court as president from 2008 to 2010. The Philadelphia Bar named him chair of its Board of Governors in 2013. At the national level, he was co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Commercial & Business Litigation Committee from 2019 through 2022. Since 2022 he has held the title of chancellor-elect of the Philadelphia Bar Association, a position that reflects long-standing involvement in the city’s legal community.

Those leadership posts have kept him engaged in issues that affect commercial disputes, courtroom procedure and lawyer ethics. In practice he has handled litigation arising from business disagreements, contract claims and related commercial matters. Colleagues and opposing counsel have encountered him in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the two jurisdictions in which he is admitted to practice.

Zucker’s work at Weir & Partners LLP has combined trial preparation, motion practice and client counseling. He has balanced firm responsibilities with committee work and teaching, often moving between court appearances and association meetings in the same week. That blend of roles has given him a practical perspective on how bar governance and litigation practice intersect.

Now more than 40 years into his career, he remains based at Weir & Partners LLP and continues to participate in bar leadership while practicing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His current practice focuses on business and commercial litigation matters.
