About Marc

Marc Boyko studied economics at Rollins College before turning to law. He earned his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2008. After law school he entered practice in Virginia and has maintained his professional ties in the state ever since.

He began his career at Cravens & Noll, P.C., joining the firm in 2008. That early period gave him steady courtroom exposure and practical experience handling litigated matters. In 2013 he became a partner at BoykoNapier, PLLC, where he assumed broader responsibilities in case management and firm operations. Over time his role shifted from newcomer to one of the lawyers shaping the firm’s approach to criminal representation.

Boyko is certified by the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission. That credential reflects work on appointed cases as well as an understanding of the procedures and obligations that come with representing clients who cannot afford counsel. He also belongs to several local and statewide professional organizations. His memberships include the Henrico and Chesterfield County Bar Associations, the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Virginia State Bar. Outside the bar, he engages locally through the Rotary Club of Richmond.

Those professional links underscore an ongoing engagement with criminal defense practice in Virginia. His work spans courtroom advocacy and the particular challenges of indigent defense. He has handled trials, pretrial matters and hearings that require quick assessment of evidence and procedural options. Colleagues describe him as methodical and pragmatic in preparing cases for trial or plea negotiations.

Boyko’s background in economics informs his approach to case strategy and client counseling. He brings that analytical habit to assessing penalties, fines and the broader financial consequences of criminal charges. Clients see in him a lawyer who can break down complex legal issues into clear choices, and who pays attention to both legal risk and practical outcomes.

He remains based in Virginia and practices at BoykoNapier, PLLC, where he represents clients in criminal defense matters and provides indigent defense services across the Commonwealth.
