About Lucas

Lucas Hernandez combined a humanities undergraduate degree with a law degree. He studied Russian and East European Studies at Yale University. He then earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School. The two degrees inform the way he frames complex problems and reads detailed documents.

After law school Hernandez qualified to practice in the District of Columbia, New York and Connecticut. He holds active membership in the State Bar of Connecticut. Over the years he has worked on matters that cross state lines and touch on different regulatory frameworks. That experience brought him into contact with state courts, federal courts and administrative agencies.

Hernandez began practicing after Cornell and has moved between private practice and roles that required close attention to procedural detail. He is comfortable in formal courtroom settings and in quieter spaces where negotiations occur. Colleagues describe him as methodical; clients have relied on him when cases required steady attention to paperwork and deadlines.

He founded the Law Offices of Lucas Hernandez to provide a compact practice able to respond quickly to client needs across multiple jurisdictions. The office handles matters that arise in state and federal systems. Cases often involve careful statutory reading and coordinating filings in more than one forum. Hernandez keeps a hands-on role in the file work and remains the primary contact for clients at his office.

Outside of client matters he retains ties to professional organizations in Connecticut. That membership keeps him connected to developments in state rules and continuing legal education opportunities. He also follows changes in federal practice that affect litigants and counsel in the region he serves.

Hernandez’s training in area studies and law gives him a particular interest in questions that involve cross-border facts or comparative procedures, though he does not specialize exclusively in international work. He balances court appearances with time spent preparing those appearances, often focusing on pleadings, discovery and legal research. The Law Offices of Lucas Hernandez is his current platform for practicing in the District of Columbia, New York and Connecticut.

His current practice focuses on representation and filings arising in the District of Columbia, New York and Connecticut.
