About Louise

Louise Ryterski built a legal career that moves between government service and private practice. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, earning a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Political Science in 1988. She then attended Saint Louis University School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 1991.

After law school Ryterski entered public service. In 1993 she took a post as Assistant Lawyer General at the Missouri Lawyer General, a role that placed her inside state government legal work early in her career. Two years later she shifted into education as a staff instructor at St. Louis Community College. That position kept her in the classroom while she continued to maintain an active legal profile.

Her work expanded into federal service in 1996 when she served as a lawyer advisor for the U.S. Department of Defense with the U.S. Army. That role added experience in a different branch of government and exposed her to military and federal legal processes. The following year she left government employment to establish a private practice. In 1997 she opened Law Office Louise Ryterski LLC and began representing clients outside the government structure.

Ryterski is admitted to practice in both Illinois and Missouri, and she holds membership in the Illinois State Bar and the Bar Association of St. Louis. Those affiliations reflect her regional presence and ongoing ties to bar organizations that serve attorneys across state lines. Her career path—state attorney general’s office, community college instruction, federal advisory work, then private practice—gives her a range of perspectives on how legal problems are handled in public and private settings.

Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She has balanced courtroom and advisory work, and she has experience explaining legal concepts to students and to clients. Over time she has moved from institutional roles into full-time practice, carrying insights from prior jobs back into client matters. Her resume is marked by steady progression and by a mix of public-sector and private-sector experience.

She now operates Law Office Louise Ryterski LLC, providing legal services to clients in Illinois and Missouri.
