About Louis J. Johnson
Louis J. Johnson Jr. is an attorney licensed in New Jersey and New York who moved into private practice after an early technical career in the United States Marine Corps. In 2007 he worked as a Telephone Systems and Personal Computer Intermediate Repairer in the Corps. That period in the military preceded his entry into law and left a mark on the practical problem-solving he brings to client matters.
His legal career began in public and small-firm settings. In 2014 he served as a legal intern with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. The next year he held several law clerk positions, including roles at Denbeaux & Denbeaux Lawyers at Law, the Law Office of Dennis S. Cleary, and the Law Office of John P. McGovern. Those early roles exposed him to trial preparation, case investigation and the day-to-day work of litigation, and they provided a foundation for courtroom practice and client counseling.
In 2017 Johnson stepped into attorney roles. He is listed as a lawyer at Denbeaux & Denbeaux Lawyers at Law that year, and he also opened his own practice, The Law Office of Louis J Johnson Jr. The move to establish an independent office came alongside continued work in established firms. That mix of small-firm initiative and experience in a firm environment shaped the way he runs his practice and serves clients.
Johnson holds membership in the National Association of Consumer Advocates. That membership places him in a professional group that focuses on consumer law and civil justice issues. He practices under the bars of New Jersey and New York, handling matters that reflect those jurisdictions’ rules and procedures. His background combines military technical work, prosecutorial internship experience and small-firm practice.
Today he operates The Law Office of Louis J. Johnson Jr., L.L.C., where he handles a range of civil matters. His case work draws on years of courtroom exposure and on the organizational skills he developed in earlier technical roles. He currently focuses his practice on consumer protection and related civil matters.
