About Mr. John P. Fazzio

Mr. John P. Fazzio III built his legal foundation in New Jersey and New York. He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law (2010). Earlier he completed corporate finance studies at Columbia Graduate School of Business in 2004. He earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2005, where his coursework included real estate, taxation, corporate law, litigation and criminal defense. He graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2002 with a degree in business management and English.

His early practical experience came through a string of internships and assistant roles that exposed him to both public and private practice. In 2004 he held internships at the New York Stock Exchange, Bloomberg and the Kings County District Attorney’s office. He interned with the New Jersey State Assembly in 1998 and later served as a student assistant at the Brooklyn County Prosecutor’s Office in 2006. That same year he clerked for the Honorable Frederick J. Schuck, J.S.C., on the New Jersey Judiciary, gaining direct courtroom and opinion-writing experience.

After law school he moved into firm practice. He joined Scarinci & Hollenbeck, LLC in 2007 as a corporate, tax and litigation associate, and in 2009 took a similar role at Archer & Greiner, P.C. In 2010 he was an associate at the Law Offices of Donald G. Koch. He began managing Fazzio Law Offices in 2010 and has maintained that role while handling matters across several practice areas.

His admissions cover multiple state and federal venues. He is admitted in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, and appears in federal courts including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. He is also admitted in the Southern District of New York Bankruptcy Court, the District of New Jersey Bankruptcy Court, the U.S. Tax Court and the Second Circuit.

Throughout his career he has worked on corporate transactions, tax disputes, complex litigation and bankruptcy matters. The combination of an LL.M. in taxation and graduate-level corporate finance training shapes how he approaches business-related legal problems. His background includes real estate and criminal defense coursework, which informs certain civil and regulatory matters he handles.

He maintains memberships in several professional organizations, including the New York County Lawyers Association, New York City Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar, Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He practices as managing lawyer at Fazzio Law Offices, handling corporate, tax, bankruptcy and litigation matters in state and federal forums.
