About Lorilee
Lorilee DeSantis built her legal foundation on two coasts. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of California, Davis in 1999 after beginning studies there in 1995. She then went on to Golden Gate University School of Law, completing her Juris Doctor in 2007.
Fresh out of law school, DeSantis joined the firm of Edward Lai and Aaron Hancock as an associate. Those early years in practice gave her day-to-day courtroom exposure and client contact, and she handled a range of matters alongside more experienced attorneys. The associate role served as a formative period, one in which she moved from classroom theory to practical advocacy.
In 2011 she spent time volunteering at the Family Law Facilitator’s Office. That position involved direct interaction with self-represented litigants and an emphasis on procedural guidance. She also became active in local professional organizations around that time, joining the Sonoma County Bar Association in 2011 and remaining a member since then.
In 2014 DeSantis established the Law Offices of Lorilee DeSantis. She is listed as the lawyer at that firm, operating out of Sonoma County. The move to her own practice marked a shift to running the administrative and strategic sides of legal work as well as serving clients. Practicing in a smaller office has meant handling intake, courtroom appearances, legal research and drafting, and the business tasks that come with sustaining a private practice.
Outside the office she has taken on roles in local civic and professional groups. Since 2014 she has served as vice president of Sonoma County Professional Women, a position that involves organizing events and contributing to the group’s initiatives. Her ongoing membership in the Sonoma County Bar Association reflects a steady engagement in the local legal community.
DeSantis is admitted to practice in the State of California and is also admitted to the Ninth Circuit. She continues to practice from the Law Offices of Lorilee DeSantis, representing clients in matters brought in California courts and in proceedings before the Ninth Circuit.
