About Lieu T. Vo
Lieu T. Vo Clark studied broadcast journalism and political science before turning to the law. She earned a B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1993 and continued at LSU’s law school, receiving her J.D. in 1996. The combination of communication training and legal education shaped an approach that pays attention to detail and to how complex information is presented.
After law school Clark became licensed to practice in both Louisiana and Illinois. She has practiced law across state lines, handling matters that require familiarity with the rules and court systems of two different jurisdictions. Those dual admissions have allowed her to move between local and regional matters and to advise clients whose needs cross state boundaries.
Clark’s early years in practice were informed by an undergraduate background in journalism. Drafting clear pleadings, preparing witnesses and explaining legal issues to nonlawyers are tasks where that background is useful. She has experience working at the counsel level and in positions where communicating legal strategy to clients and colleagues matters as much as the law itself.
Throughout her career Clark has maintained active professional ties. She holds current membership in professional organizations and uses those networks to stay current on changes in law and procedure. Colleagues describe her as practical in approach and careful in analysis. She tends to favor clear, direct writing and an orderly presentation of facts and law when preparing cases or transactional documents.
Today Clark practices as a lawyer admitted in Louisiana and Illinois. She continues to apply both her legal training and her earlier study in communication when representing clients and advising on matters that implicate the laws of those states. She focuses her current practice on advising clients and handling matters under Louisiana and Illinois law.
