About Leslie Wulfsohn
Leslie Wulfsohn Loftus built her legal foundation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a B.A. in Art History in 1981. She went on to receive her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 1984. Those academic years preceded a long career that has spanned private practice, firm leadership and court service.
Her first post-law school job was a clerkship with a Federal District Court in 1984. The clerkship gave early exposure to litigation and judicial procedure. She entered private practice soon after and became a partner at Arnstein & Lehr in 1986. That period marked the start of decades of work in Florida law firms and in bar leadership roles.
Loftus moved into Florida practice over the following years. She was a partner at Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg, P.A., beginning in 2002, and later joined Kirk-Pinkerton, P.A. as a partner in 2008. In 2013 she opened Loftus Law and has operated that office since. Along the way she maintained licensure in both Illinois and Florida.
Her involvement in local and statewide legal organizations runs alongside her practice. She has served as chair of the 12th Circuit Court Local Professionalism Panel since 2014. She was chair of the 12th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee from 2009 to 2010. Earlier leadership posts included chairing the Sarasota County Bar Association Professionalism Committee from 2004 to 2006 and the Domestic Violence Committee of the 12th Judicial Circuit Family Law Advisory Group in 2007–2008. She has been a fellow of the Florida Bar Foundation since 2007 and holds membership in the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals beginning in 2014.
Those committee roles reflect recurring interests in professionalism, access to justice and family law concerns. Her work has included matters that involve domestic relations and domestic violence issues, and she has engaged in collaborative practice circles through professional memberships. Colleagues describe her as experienced in court procedures and bar governance, given her years of committee service and courtroom practice.
Loftus continues to run Loftus Law in Sarasota, handling matters across family law, collaborative practice and related domestic relations issues. She is active in the 12th Circuit’s professionalism efforts and remains involved in community bar work as part of her ongoing practice focus.
