About Leroy

Leroy Scott practices law in Texas and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He works at Scott Law PLLC, where he handles matters that arise in both state and federal settings. His day-to-day involves written advocacy, courtroom appearances and advice for clients facing complex procedural issues.

Scott began his legal career after obtaining his law degree and passing the bar, eventually gaining admission to practice in Texas and to the Fifth Circuit. Over time he moved into roles that required appellate briefing and oral argument, and those responsibilities now form a central part of his practice. He has maintained active professional memberships and participates in bar activities relevant to trial and appellate procedure.

Much of Scott’s work involves cases that require careful parsing of statutes, rules and precedent. He prepares and reviews appellate briefs, manages record-sifting for appeals, and presents arguments in court when cases reach higher tribunals. He also advises trial counsel on preserving issues for appeal, helping to frame questions likely to be dispositive on review. His approach is methodical. He aims to make complex legal points clear and persuasive on the page and in the courtroom.

Colleagues describe him as deliberate and exacting in his preparation. He places emphasis on procedural posture and on the factual record. That attention to detail can be important when deadlines are short and orders carry significant consequences. In addition to appellate work, Scott assists clients with pretrial motions and post-judgment matters when matters proceed through the Texas court system.

Outside the courtroom he remains engaged with professional associations and bar programs, keeping up with changes in appellate rules and Texas procedure. He works from Scott Law PLLC, serving clients who need representation in state trial courts and at the appellate level. He currently practices at Scott Law PLLC, where his work centers on matters arising in Texas trial courts and appeals before the Fifth Circuit.
