About Lauren Morgan
Lauren Morgan Ellerman has spent more than two decades practicing law in Virginia. She earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2001 after completing a B.A. in English and Government at the College of William and Mary in 1997. Those academic years set the stage for a career centered on courtroom work and community involvement.
Her early legal experience included a summer associate position at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick in 2003. She joined Sevila, Saunders, Huddleston & White, PC as a lawyer in 2004 and moved to the Frith Law Office as an associate in 2006. In 2011 she became a partner at Frith Ellerman & Davis Law Office, a role that reflected a steady rise through private practice.
Ellerman’s practice has long intersected with trial work. She belongs to the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and holds membership in the American Association for Justice, associations that align with courtroom litigation. Her background includes preparing cases for trial and representing clients in state courts.
Beyond casework, Ellerman has taken on leadership roles in the legal community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Roanoke Bar Association and has been an officer for the Roanoke chapter of the Virginia Women Lawyers Association since 2010. Those positions have placed her in settings where legal education and local professional issues are discussed and advanced.
Community organizations figure prominently in her public profile. She founded Turn the Page, Inc., an initiative that reflects an interest in literacy and local programming. She served as board chair for Family Promise of Greater Roanoke and remains involved with the organization. She is also involved with Roanoke Area Ministries and has served on its board.
Ellerman’s civic engagement extends to faith community leadership. She serves as an elder at Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, a role that involves governance and pastoral support for the congregation.
Her career path shows steady progression from summer associate to partner, combined with sustained participation in professional and civic organizations. Colleagues and community members encounter her in courtrooms, boardrooms, and nonprofit meetings across Roanoke and surrounding areas.
She currently practices law in Virginia and concentrates on civil litigation and trial work in the state.
