About Lauren Ashley
Lauren Ashley Leikam built a career at the intersection of health care and law in Florida. She handles matters that affect providers, license holders and health care entities. Her work often brings her into administrative hearings and licensing disputes where technical rules matter as much as the facts.
She earned her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2011. While at law school she concentrated on health care law and related fields, including Medicare, Medicaid, nurse defense, physician defense, pharmacy law and license defense. That academic background shaped her early public-sector work.
Early in her career she served as a Special Deputy Hearing Officer for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity in 2009. She then moved into the Florida Department of Health, where she worked as Assistant General Counsel beginning in 2012. Those roles put her on both sides of regulatory processes and gave her direct experience with administrative procedures and state licensing systems.
Leikam later joined the private sector as a lawyer at Chapman Law Group in 2018. In that role she handled matters for clients navigating health care regulation and enforcement. Her experience in government informed her approach to representation, particularly in contested licensing and regulatory proceedings.
In 2022 she opened her own firm, Lauren A. Leikam, PLLC, where she serves as owner and managing lawyer. She manages day-to-day operations while continuing to represent health care professionals and organizations. Her practice includes representation before state boards and agencies, counsel on compliance issues and defense work arising from professional licensure inquiries.
She maintains professional memberships relevant to her practice and remains based in Florida. Colleagues describe her work as pragmatic and detail-oriented; clients seek her out for matters that require knowledge of both health care practice and administrative law. She currently concentrates her practice on health care regulatory defense, license defense and related administrative matters in Florida.
