About Laura

Laura Gardner graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2016 after earning a J.D. Her interest in legal systems traces back to undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, where she completed a B.A. in Criminology, Law, and Society in 2012. Those years shaped her understanding of how law interacts with families, communities and public institutions.

After law school she served as a clerk for the Honorable Judge Mustafa T. Kasubhai of the Lane County Circuit Court in 2016. The clerkship placed her at the center of trial court work. She worked on legal research, drafted memoranda and opinions, and observed courtroom procedure at close range. That period offered sustained exposure to family law and civil matters handled at the circuit court level.

Following her time on the bench she moved into private practice. Her work has concentrated on family law matters, including dissolution, parenting plans, child support and property division. She brings a courtroom-aware perspective to negotiations and hearings. Clients encounter someone familiar with both the procedural rhythms of the courtroom and the practical demands of resolving family disputes.

Today she practices at Hedman Family Law, L.L.C. Her caseload involves contested and uncontested family law matters and related court proceedings. She represents clients through settlement discussions, mediation and, when necessary, trial. Her experience as a judicial clerk informs how she prepares cases and presents arguments to judges. She currently practices family law at Hedman Family Law, L.L.C., handling dissolution, parenting plans and related court matters.
