About Steven
Steven Leskin is an Oregon-licensed lawyer whose path to the law began in philosophy. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Pitzer College in 1984 and went on to receive a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1992. Those academic years formed the foundation for a practice that spans litigation, family law process work and courtroom service.
Shortly after law school, Leskin opened his own practice. Records show he operated as Steven Leskin, P.C., beginning in 1992. He later served as a municipal judge for the North Plains Municipal Court in 2002. That judicial role added a different vantage point on how local courts handle routine and contested matters.
In the last decade Leskin’s work shifted toward mediation and arbitration alongside traditional practice. He joined Pacific Cascade Family Law in 2020 and in 2021 established a mediation offering under Leskin Law called One Day Divorce Mediation. The One Day model aims to compress the negotiation timeline for separating couples into a single-day process. He also lists work as a mediator and arbitrator during that period.
Leskin’s professional memberships include the Oregon Mediation Association, the Multnomah Bar Association and the Academy of Professional Family Law Mediators, all active since 2021. He is also listed as a member of Oregon Women’s Lawyers since 1992. Those group ties reflect his involvement in both bar and dispute-resolution communities.
His credentials extend beyond law. Leskin has completed a computer coding program through The Tech Academy and a port management program at the University of Alaska. Those certificates suggest interests in technical and logistical subjects that can intersect with client needs, especially in cases that touch on business or infrastructure issues.
The pattern of Leskin’s career shows movement between private practice, court service and alternative dispute resolution. He retains a practice office under the Leskin Law & Mediation name. He currently practices in Oregon and concentrates his work on family law mediation, arbitration and related legal services.
