About Lance David
Lance David Sharp earned both his undergraduate and law degrees at Creighton University. He completed a Bachelor of Science in 1984 and took his J.D. in 1987. The mid-1980s set the stage for a career that moved quickly from the classroom into public service and then private practice.
Fresh out of law school, Sharp began his legal work in Hays County. In 1987 he served as an Assistant District Lawyer there. The role placed him in court frequently and exposed him to trial work early on. Those first years provided hands-on experience in litigation, case preparation and courtroom procedure.
Two years later he joined the office listed as Texas Lawyer General in 1989 as an Assistant Texas Lawyer General. That position extended his public-sector record and broadened the types of matters he handled. It also gave him a view into statewide legal issues and the mechanics of government litigation.
Sharp later moved into private practice and developed an emphasis on personal injury litigation. He earned Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Peer-reviewed certification is intended to signal tested experience in a practice area and requires demonstration of trial work and continuing education. For Sharp, the certification aligns with the courtroom work he began as an early-career prosecutor.
Over the years Sharp's file has included contested matters that required trial preparation, jury selection and witness examination. His approach in the courtroom leans on steady procedural work and attention to evidentiary detail. Colleagues describe him as methodical in case development and careful in the handling of expert testimony.
He practices under the name The Sharp Firm. The firm handles civil matters centered on injury cases and related litigation. Sharp spends much of his time preparing for trials, managing discovery and counseling clients on litigation options. He remains based in Texas and continues to take cases that move from negotiation into the courtroom.
