About Kristina J.

Kristina J. Sexton is a lawyer admitted to practice in both Alabama and Florida. She built her legal credentials around family law and issues affecting children. Her academic training includes a certification in Children and Families from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, an area that informs much of her casework and client counseling.

Sexton began her career handling matters that intersect family dynamics and legal process. Early on she developed practical courtroom experience as well as time working directly with families. That period sharpened her understanding of how legal rules interact with everyday life. She learned to read both statutes and the people affected by them.

Over the years her caseload has centered on divorce, custody, support, and related proceedings. She has sought to balance legal strategy with the practical needs of clients who often find themselves in difficult circumstances. In cases involving children, her certification in Children and Families has guided her approach to evidence, advocacy, and settlement discussions.

Colleagues describe her courtroom presence as straightforward and prepared. She tends to keep arguments focused and to present records clearly. Outside the courtroom she spends time preparing parenting plans, negotiating agreements, and helping clients understand deadlines and procedural choices. Clients encounter a lawyer who aims to explain options plainly and who tries to set realistic expectations about outcomes.

Sexton maintains active professional relationships and continues to engage with the legal community. She participates in continuing legal education and professional gatherings relevant to family law and child welfare. Those activities keep her current on changes to law and procedure in both Alabama and Florida.

She serves at NXTSTEP Family Law, P.C., where she counsels individuals and families on a range of family-law matters. Her work there includes both contested and uncontested cases, and it reflects her training in matters concerning children and families. She continues to practice in Alabama and Florida, concentrating on family law and issues that affect children and households.
