About Kimberly M.
Kimberly M. Seabright arrived in Maryland’s legal community after an academic path that took her from Towson University to Pennsylvania State University’s law school. She combined a Bachelor of Science from Towson with a Juris Doctor from Penn State, and she has used that training in a series of associate roles at small and mid-size firms across the state.
Her first post-law school position on record was at Portner & Shure in 2021. She worked there as an associate lawyer and handled matters typical of a young litigator building courtroom experience. In 2022 she moved to Krum Gergely & Oates, again serving as an associate. Colleagues from those years describe steady courtroom work and hands-on case preparation.
In 2024 Seabright joined Schmidt, Dailey & O Neill as an associate. The move placed her in a firm that handles contested matters in Maryland courts. Her résumé shows steady professional progression over a relatively short span of years. She has continued to accept roles that involve both litigation and client counseling.
She is admitted to practice in Maryland and in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Those admissions allow her to appear in state and federal trial courts. She has pursued the bar qualifications necessary to represent clients in both forums and has taken on cases in Maryland trial courts and federal matters when they arise.
Outside of firm work she is active in local professional groups. Seabright maintains membership in the Montgomery County Bar Association and in the Maryland Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. The organizations provide continuing legal education, networking and a regular forum for trial lawyers to discuss issues facing the courts in Maryland.
Her practice experience to date is grounded in litigation at the trial level. She has worked on case preparation, hearing and trial strategy, and courtroom advocacy. Peers note that her career path has emphasized gaining courtroom time and developing practical skills rather than moving into niche transactional work. She remains based at Schmidt, Dailey & O Neill and represents clients in both Maryland and federal courts. She currently focuses on litigation in Maryland and federal courts.
