About Kimberly AS

Kimberly AS Utesch earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2011. She arrived in law after several years of study and training and moved quickly into work tied to family and courtroom processes. Her legal education at Denver set the stage for a practice centered on dispute resolution, investigation and client counseling.

She is licensed to practice in Colorado and has built a career that blends courtroom experience with alternative dispute resolution. Her professional base is Utesch Law, LLC, where she handles matters that require both legal analysis and careful fact-gathering. Colleagues describe her as practical and steady; clients rely on clear explanations and hands-on involvement.

Utesch holds certification from the Colorado Supreme Court as a Child and Family Investigator. That credential allows her to conduct investigations and prepare reports for family courts that address parenting, custody and the welfare of children. She is also a certified mediator through Mares-Dixon & Associates, a qualification that she uses in private mediations and in collaborative settings. The combination of investigative and mediation credentials shapes how she approaches disputes: fact-driven, attentive to family dynamics, and oriented toward workable arrangements.

Her connection to professional communities runs deep. She has been a member of the Mediation Association of Colorado since 2014. She joined the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee in 2016, memberships that reflect an interest in interdisciplinary work on family issues. Since 2011 she has held memberships in the Arapahoe County Bar Association and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association. Those affiliations inform her practice and offer networks for case consultation and continuing education.

Utesch’s work draws on both investigative report writing and mediated negotiation. She often steps into cases where courts need neutral, fact-based insight about children and parenting, and where parties seek negotiated resolutions outside of trial. She approaches each file with an emphasis on clear process and documentation. Her offices at Utesch Law, LLC provide services that range from court-ordered investigations to private mediation sessions.

In private practice she concentrates on family law matters that overlap investigation and mediation, providing court-ready investigative reports and facilitating negotiated agreements as appropriate.
