About Kimberly A.
Kimberly A. Andrade trained first as a nurse before turning to the law. She earned an R.N. from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1994, followed by a B.S. from Southern Connecticut State University in 1997. She completed her legal studies at Quinnipiac University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2001.
Her early legal experience included a judicial clerkship at the Connecticut Superior Court in 2002. The clerkship gave her an inside view of courtroom procedure and the decision-making process. She moved into private practice the following year, joining Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, LLP in 2003. That stint in a larger firm exposed her to a broad docket and multi-jurisdictional litigation practice.
Andrade later became a lawyer at Hirsch Andrade, LLP, where she continues to work. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, and she is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Her dual background in nursing and law informs the way she approaches cases that involve medical evidence and health care systems. She reads clinical records with an eye toward factual detail and context.
Her professional memberships reflect overlapping interests in trial work and health-law matters. She belongs to the Connecticut State Bar and the New York State Bar Association. She is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. She also holds membership in the American Association of Nurse Attorneys, a group that brings together clinical and legal perspectives.
Colleagues describe Andrade as practical in court and methodical in case preparation. She has moved between public-sector work and private practice and has experience handling procedural and evidentiary issues. Her path from clinical nursing to the courthouse is a recurring theme in her work life. It gives her a familiarity with both patient care language and legal standards.
In practice, Andrade handles matters in state and federal courts and works on cases that require careful attention to medical records and expert testimony. She maintains an active role at Hirsch Andrade, LLP, counseling and representing clients in civil litigation across her admitted jurisdictions. Her current practice centers on civil litigation and health-related legal matters.
